Last year, Captain suffered a severe injury to one of his eyes. The damage was so extensive that we had no choice but to remove it. Despite the trauma, Captain’s indomitable spirit shone through. He adapted remarkably well, showing us all that strength isn’t just about physical appearance but also about the heart.

But Captain’s trials didn’t end there. Recently, he endured another serious injury to his remaining eye. Our dedicated vet sprang into action to repair the damage and preserve what vision Captain had left.

Now, Captain is on the mend. His recovery is ongoing, but he is receiving the utmost care and attention. Every day, we see him becoming stronger.

Croissant’s journey took a tragic turn when he was struck by a lawn mower blade, causing severe injuries to both of his front legs. It’s important to clarify that this accident was purely unintentional—an unfortunate mishap that left Croissant in critical condition. Despite the severity of his injuries, our team was determined to give him the best chance for recovery.

Under the expert care of Dr. K, our skilled veterinarian known for her kindness, precision, and brilliance in surgery, Croissant underwent a double amputation.

Croissant’s amputation was a challenging decision, but it was the only option to ensure his survival and quality of life. Thanks to Dr. K’s remarkable care and the support of our team, Croissant is now on the path to recovery. He is adapting to his new circumstances with resilience and a hopeful spirit.

Milka was brought to us in a dire condition. While his loving owners were away, they reached out for help as Milka became critically ill and paralyzed, barely able to move his head. Despite the severity of his condition, we were committed to giving Milka the care he needed. We awaited crucial blood results and worked tirelessly to stabilize him.

Today, we are overjoyed to announce that Milka has made a full recovery! His journey through rehab stands as one of our greatest successes. Milka has returned home, and he’s back to his role as a guard dog—though he might not be the best at it yet!

This success story is a testament to the power of community support. We are deeply grateful for the contributions that made this possible and are excited about the upcoming high season.

Today, we return to see the remarkable results of our efforts. Hom Nuan, once emaciated and struggling, is now thriving in a newly built house provided by the villagers—a perfect testament to our work. She has been spayed and will never have puppies again, ensuring she lives a peaceful life. Her five puppies have all found loving homes, and the other dogs in her village received much-needed check-ups and treatment.

As we care for these little ones, we are eager to find them loving homes. In Pai, the trend of buying dogs from breeders has led to many local dogs being overlooked. We hope to inspire a shift in mindset, encouraging our community to consider adopting and supporting local animals in need.

Thailand is home to millions of street dogs and therefore it happens quite regulary that Pete’s Mission receives information about a new puppy litter in the area. Whenever this happens we’ll make sure to visit the mumma & her babies straight away to see if they are living in a safe spot. If they aren’t: we’ll take them to the sanctuary immediately. For example in the past we have picked up puppies who were underfed, living in a drain pipe, close to big roads or whose mum had been killed. We’ll also always take medical care of mum & her babies and feed them daily, unless of course there are locals living nearby who are taking over this responsibility.

Whenever the pupies are old enough we’ll then ensure to find save homes for them by reaching out to our local community. Pete’s Mission was set up to improve the welfare of stray animals and the most effective way of doing this is by managing the root problem, which is the overpopulation of street animals. This is why we have a spay and neuter programm and sterilize dogs on a weekly basis.

We were able to save,  rehome, spay and neuter countless of puppies so far and we’ll continue to do so. Please consider supporting our vital work since we are the only animal rescue in this area.
