It took us some planning in order to find the best solution for him.

Uncle Money’s wound was quite serious but we were confident we were able to help him. He is now a few days into his recovery after complicated surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his scalp. We brought him back home for now, because this is where he feels most comfortable and at ease.

His owners love him, they will help with post op care and we will check on him twice a day for meds and cleaning.

Thank you so much to all of our supporters for making these life changing surgeries possible.

At Pete’s Mission, we see countless stories of courage and recovery every day, but Captain’s tale is one that truly embodies the spirit of resilience. Captain, a street dog in Pai, has faced more than his fair share of hardships, yet his journey is one of hope and renewal.

Last year, Captain suffered a severe injury to one of his eyes. The damage was so extensive that we had no choice but to remove it. Despite the trauma, Captain’s indomitable spirit shone through. He adapted remarkably well, showing us all that strength isn’t just about physical appearance but also about the heart.

But Captain’s trials didn’t end there. Recently, he endured another serious injury to his remaining eye. Our dedicated vet sprang into action to repair the damage and preserve what vision Captain had left.

Now, Captain is on the mend. His recovery is ongoing, but he is receiving the utmost care and attention. Every day, we see him becoming stronger.

At Pete’s Mission, we are committed to giving street dogs like Captain a chance at a better life. Stories like Captain’s remind us of why our work is so important. With your support, we can continue to provide the medical care and compassion that these incredible animals need and deserve.

Today, we want to share the remarkable story of Croissant, a brave street dog who faced a devastating accident and is now embarking on a new chapter of his life.

Croissant’s journey took a tragic turn when he was struck by a lawn mower blade, causing severe injuries to both of his front legs. It’s important to clarify that this accident was purely unintentional—an unfortunate mishap that left Croissant in critical condition. Despite the severity of his injuries, our team was determined to give him the best chance for recovery.

Under the expert care of Dr. K, our skilled veterinarian known for her kindness, precision, and brilliance in surgery, Croissant underwent a double amputation.

Croissant’s amputation was a challenging decision, but it was the only option to ensure his survival and quality of life. Thanks to Dr. K’s remarkable care and the support of our team, Croissant is now on the path to recovery. He is adapting to his new circumstances with resilience and a hopeful spirit.

At Pete’s Mission, we are proud to offer this vital service to our community, and Croissant’s story is a powerful reminder of why our work is so important. Your support enables us to continue providing essential care to dogs like Croissant, helping them overcome their challenges and embrace a brighter future.

Thank you for being a part of Croissant’s journey.

We are thrilled to share an inspiring update about Milka, a street dog who has recently made a remarkable recovery thanks to the support of our dedicated community.

Milka was brought to us in a dire condition. While his loving owners were away, they reached out for help as Milka became critically ill and paralyzed, barely able to move his head. Despite the severity of his condition, we were committed to giving Milka the care he needed. We awaited crucial blood results and worked tirelessly to stabilize him.

Today, we are overjoyed to announce that Milka has made a full recovery! His journey through rehab stands as one of our greatest successes. Milka has returned home, and he’s back to his role as a guard dog—though he might not be the best at it yet!

This success story is a testament to the power of community support. We are deeply grateful for the contributions that made this possible and are excited about the upcoming high season.

However, we’re currently falling behind on funding. If each of our supporters could increase their contribution by just 10%, we would get back on track. Your support is vital to continue helping dogs like Milka.

Thank you for being part of Milka’s journey and for your ongoing commitment. Your generosity makes all the difference.

In the remote mountainous villages of Pai, where few outsiders venture, our mission is to offer help where it’s needed most. Every day, we work quietly, often alone, to make a difference. Recently, we encountered Hom Nuan, a mother dog in desperate need. We provided her with food, warm bedding, and medical care, including treatment for her puppies with severe maggot wounds.

Today, we return to see the remarkable results of our efforts. Hom Nuan, once emaciated and struggling, is now thriving in a newly built house provided by the villagers—a perfect testament to our work. She has been spayed and will never have puppies again, ensuring she lives a peaceful life. Her five puppies have all found loving homes, and the other dogs in her village received much-needed check-ups and treatment.

If you remember the story of Beatrice and the piglets, here is the long overdue update for you.
As you know little Mot Gaew had a rough start to life. In total he needed 3 surgeries to correct his Gastro-intestinal issues and had to go through this as a particulary weak baby without his mother. It was tough and at times we honestly weren’t confident that he would make it through.

Thanks to Beatrice and later on our volunteers endless love and care he made it through these very difficult times. After his full recovery little Mot Gaew finally caught up to his brother Bua Thong in size, appetite and confidence. Even though they are brothers their personality couldn’t be more different. Mot Gaew is a sweet soul, a little shy towards humans at first but very loving, determined and strong. Bua Thong on the other hand plays the role of his silly and curious big brother. He gets very protective of Mot Gaew. We are so happy to see them both finally living the happy and healthy life in pig paradise they deserve.

Their joy should remind us all that their flesh and bones are not food.

A pig, is a pug, is a dog, is a boy.

In September last year we were called when Beatrice was found alone and crying in pain by the roadside. It seemed her rear legs and hips were disabled from arthritis and had finally failed her. We immediatly brought her home. Our initial plan for Beatrice was to give her the medical care she needed and let her retire in comfort at Pete’s Mission. Little did we know her adventures were far from over…

It turned out she was pregnant and sadly she lost her babies. Unfortunatly at such an old age this is not uncommon. But this is where Beatrice’s story became remarkable. Whilst she was still grieving, we rescued 2 orphaned piglets: Mot Gaew and Bua Thong. Both of them at that time urgently needed a mother, Mot Gaew being particulary poorly because he suffered from birth deffects. Since Beatrice was still lactating and desperate to nurture her babies we made the decision to let the piglets live with her for a while. Seeing Beatrice instantly take on the role as a loving mother left our whole team in awe.

The piglets grew strong and against all odds Beatrice even started walking again. Our old lady surprised us again and again.

She spent the next months trotting around the sanctuary recieving first class treatment along the way. After all she had done for others during her life, it was now her time to be loved and taken care of. It was an honor to do exactly that for her. Beatrice completed some important jobs before leaving us and she taught us all some valuable life lessons. She died surrounded by her friends and she will never be forgotten. Her story will be told. Rest easy Miss B.
