Update #4 – Mange case

This poor guy to has demodicosis or demodectic mange. This condition is all to common and is part of a viscous cycle of abandonment, isolation, irritation and infection. Yesterday we took a trip down the vet for medication and sound advice. Given his particular case and temperament we decided to return him back to the village he is familiar with and treat him there for now. Demodicosis can manifest as lesions of two types: squamous, which causes dry alopecia and thickening of the skin, and pustular, which is the more severe form, causing secondary infection (usually by Staphylococcus), resulting in the characteristic numerous red pustules and wrinkling of the skin.

Thousands more dogs in this region suffer from debilitating and life threatening skin conditions. Pete’s Mission will seek out animals in critical need and provide owners and villagers with education and information regarding their animals health issues.

Stay involved, follow this guys progress. Let us together provide an example of what’s possible. Remember this campaign target can certainly exceed my current goal which will only help Pete’s Mission move faster, buy better equipment and have a completed facility sooner to help the countless animals like this (unnamed) boy.

I will continue to fight for all my waking hours, everyone’s generous support is driving this project forward and fills me full of pride. No longer do I feel alone with this massive task ahead.

Thank you my friends!
