Hippo was found deep in the mountains during an outreach mission in June 2019.
On arrival Ryan could smell Hippo’s wound before he even found him.
He had a grapefruit-sized, leaking abscess on his shoulder, infected and bleeding
Hippo soon joined the Petes Mission crew so we could clean his wounds.
After successful removal of his abscess and recovery he returned to his temple on the mountain, where he now lives his best life.
He’s being fed by the local monks and surrounded by his beloved pack of mountain-dogs.
